Hi,I'm Danielle!

MS, MHC-LP

“Dealing with hurt, observing and unpacking your emotions, challenging false ideas, asking for forgiveness, confronting and feeling your pain, and having the courage to start writing a new story - this is love. It is the greatest loving act you can choose for your one wild and most precious life.”

- Dr. Jonathan Ramachenderan

I am so glad you are here because taking care of your mental health is incredibly important!

Although seeking help can sometimes feel intimidating, recognizing that you do not have to face life’s challenges alone is the first step towards achieving your goals and building your best possible life. We should all understand that being vulnerable and confronting complex personal issues is an act of strength, not weakness. Supporting my clients on their path of self-reflection to achieve meaningful change is a privilege.

I have experience treating people of all ages with a myriad of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, complex relationships, low self-esteem, family dynamics, occupational challenges, independence anxiety, parenting, life transitions, academic and learning challenges, grief, aging, and illness. Uncovering the cause and meaning behind specific thoughts, feelings, and behaviors helps us recognize patterns and connections and inspires us to make healthier life choices and adopt empowering mindsets. Doing this hard work increases self-acceptance and appreciation, allowing for personal growth, emotional stability, and a stronger sense of self.

I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, worries, concerns, and life experiences. I use integrative, evidence-based methods to meet your individual needs, including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, and relaxation and mindfulness-based practices. I also teach coping skills and provide psychoeducation. I am warm, compassionate, approachable, profoundly caring, open-minded, direct, flexible, supportive, and can
even be funny!

A little about my background: I am a native New Yorker with a husband, three grown children, a son-in-law, a dog, and two granddogs. I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a minor in Education. I received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University Post.

I would be honored to work with you. My approach is to nourish your soul with respect, sensitivity, and acceptance while guiding and supporting you to move forward in your mental health journey in a productive, controlled, and positive way.
