Hi there,
I'm Thao.
THAO VU, CLINICAL RESIDENT
Life can throw unexpected curveballs at us; however, I can help you face any challenges by working with you to develop the right mindset and skills to cope with and address any daily life problems you are struggling with.
When I was a child, my family and I fled our war-torn country of Vietnam. We settled in the United States with my family in the hope of pursuing the American Dream of freedom, a better life, opportunities, and education. I am a wife and mother of two and have been married for twenty-seven years. I reside in Bayside, Queens, New York. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration Degree as an undergraduate from Baruch College, CUNY, NY, and I am now pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at York College, CUNY, NY.
When I arrived in America as an immigrant, I did not speak a word of English. Like many others, I came with a dream of building a better life. I know firsthand the daily life struggles that each of us can face, just as I do, whether it is balancing personal, work, family, and career. I was fortunate to have been supported by a Social Worker when I arrived in the United States, whose guidance helped my family adjust to our new life. Inspired by that experience, I chose to enter this field to give others the same kind of support.
I have over a decade of experience working with College Students as an advisor and have helped them develop coping skills to better balance their daily struggles with managing their academic, work, and personal lives. I enjoy working with all age groups.
My motto in life is “live life to the fullest.” My passions include traveling the world, cooking, being a big-time foodie, and being an exercise enthusiast. Together, we can focus on self-care and work toward building a strong mind and body.
