Hi there,
I'm Tenesha.
TENESHA JOHNSON, MHC CLINICAL RESIDENT
MY GOAL IS TO EXPLORE AND CHALLENGE PERSPECTIVES AMONG VARIOUS PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT LIFE JOURNEYS.
I was born and raised in Queens and Elmont, New York. As a child of Caribbean immigrants, mother to a child with special needs, my goal is to explore and challenge perspectives among various people from different life journeys.
I have over a decade of experience working with school-aged children, adolescents, teens and adults. Using cognitive behavior therapy and a solutions-focused approach, I will provide you with a safe and nonjudgmental space to engage in self-discovery. Together we will focus on the steps to create change, transformation, and confidence. You will become a better version of yourself. Collaboratively we can navigate and identify the history of trauma, triggers, and work through complex family dynamics that impact your behaviors.
I completed my Bachelor's Degree from SUNY New Paltz University in Black Studies, and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and Educational Leadership from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ. I am currently pursuing my Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University.
Whatever has brought you here, it is my hope that psychotherapy will be an enriching experience for you. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family, enrich my spiritual identity, dance, and try new recipes.
